An effective arts curriculum provides opportunities for students to make connections among the arts, with other disciplines within the core curriculum, and with arts resources in the community.

Art Field Trips
It is my vision to broaden the scope of the elementary students’ visual art experience in the Wellesley Public Schools by fostering a rich relationship between school art and museum art. Looking at art and discussing artwork aids in the development of critical thinking and communication skills. Additionally, viewing art in a museum cannot truly be emulated in the art room. I’m passionate about the positive impact art field trips have on the learner. The field trip locations I select always connect to the K-5 Core curriculum. Providing many and varied experiences give students a broader understanding of curriculum topics as well as art concepts. This page provides some examples of field trips my students have experienced.
